How to Play Paintball

Getting the Game to Run

  1. Download the game from the official website;
  2. While you are downloading, you (should) register a global login account for the game;
  3. Once the download is completed, install the game and run it;
  4. The opening screen should be a "Select Profile" screen. If you did not create that global login account as we had suggested, press ESC right now to skip to the main menu; however, if you created an account and want to login...
    1. Click [Create Profile]
    2. Click [Add Account To Profile]
    3. Enter the username you registered for into the two boxes (if you registered with an official clan, you may prefix the name with a clan tag)
    4. Click [Add]
    5. Select your name in the list, enter your password in the textbox, and press [Login]

Playing by Yourself

You may want to play with (dumb) bots for a while to get the hang of the game. After that, then you will be ready to try out the public servers.

  1. On the main menu, click Play;
  2. Click New Game;
  3. Choose a map and change the game settings if you want;
  4. Press Play to start the game;
  5. Once the game has started, you can add computer players (bots) by:
    1. Press the tilde (~) key in the top left of your keyboard to open the console;
    2. Type in addbot and press ENTER;
    3. Repeat the last step for as many bots as you want;
    4. Press the tilde (~) key again to close the console.

Playing on a Public Server

Paintball is multiplayer game, so you will have to find a public server to play on with other people.

  1. On the main menu, click Play;
  2. Click Join Game;
  3. Click Update to download the list of public games running;
  4. Find a server with players in it;
  5. After you have found one, double click on its name;
  • If an error pops up, and it says....
    • Login failed... either your password is incorrect... kicked from the game: You're trying to use a name that someone else already registered with their global login account, OR you entered the wrong password when you logged in.
    • Bad password: The server requires a password to join. Press ESC and go back to the Join Game menu to find another server.
  • At a later time, you may want to update the list of public servers. To refresh and update the list:
    • Clear button: Clears the list of servers;
    • Update button: Downloads a new list of servers (press Clear first to clean up before updating).
    • Refresh button: Refreshes the statistics for all the servers (map, ping, players, server name);

I've added one bot too many, I tried typing in the command "deletebot" but it wouldn't work. Can I take one out at a time or do you have to reset it some sort of way? Some help would be great, Thanks.

The command is removebot [botname]. [botname] can be all to remove all the bots: removebot all
